In 2005 when I was looking at the prospect of an empty nest, I realized I would be able to focus on what I wanted to do for myself. I reviewed past dreams and desires that would help me transition toward retirement. I attempted to join the Peace Corps which ended up being a dead end and then remembered that I had interest in massage therapy. I enrolled at Oklahoma Health Academy in 2006 and completed a 930-hour course program in 2007. I didn't give up my day job until early 2015 while I attempted to build my practice. I was in the same location from September 2007 through November of 2021. It was with a heavy heart that I left what had been my business home since 2007. We lost Turner Primrose in the spring of 2018 and his lovely wife Marcene followed in the fall of 2019. Their children found a buyer for the building who did not retain any of the remaining tenants. The building was purchased by Turner Primrose in 1971 before the ADA Act was signed by President Reagan. It will be gutted and renovated to bring it up to ADA codes. I find myself once again making the decision to move my practice. While the location I landed in 2021 was doable, it has become too expensive for me to maintain without consistent sublet tenants to help with rent costs. I found a location that still gives me two treatment rooms, a waiting area, a common room, storage, and a restroom. I can afford it on my own, it has ample parking for clients and is still located in downtown Norman. I hope that I can make it inviting and peaceful for my clients as well.
I am a Board Certified Therapist, meaning I took the National Certification Board for Massage Therapy and Bodywork proficiency exam and have maintained my certification with this board. I am a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association. I have been a volunteer on many levels with the local AMTA-OK Chapter. My biggest accomplishment with the AMTA-OK Chapter is sitting as Government Relations Chair to help facilitate professional licensing of massage therapy. In May 2016 Governor Fallin signed into law SB 687 'Massage Therapy Practice Act'. Oklahoma now requires licensing of massage therapists. Our governing board started licensing in January 2017, so I can now use the designation LMT along with CMT and BCTMB. I am passionate about the benefits of massage therapy and the need for a proper education. I continue to monitor the legislature to make sure that we don't lose our licensing or have unnecessary regulations put in place that hurt our ability to provide our clients with our services.
With each massage I seek to identify and assist my clients with issues that create stress and pain in their everyday life. There are many different types of massage that one can receive, and it is important for consumers of massage to be educated in the differences. If I volunteer as a massage therapists at a sports event the techniques used will be tailored to the event. If you make an appointment to see me in my office, I will tailor my techniques to create a unique therapeutic massage for you.

I am available by appointment only; I will accommodate your schedule if possible. My philosophy is to approach each massage as an individual and spiritual experience, to help clients balance their mind, body and soul. I hope to help clients find a way to take their health and well-being back into their hands.
